The mission: A community of learners making our world sustainable.

Because it’s our world. We live here together. The borders are an illusion of separation. There’s one planet and we need to treat it with respect.

To me, The Green School is how education should be. The children learn just that; treating the planet with respect and care.

It’s a school that honors every student in whichever shape or form they come. Children who don’t do well in ‘normal’ schools thrive here.

There are no walls, the focus is on sustainability, the school honors the Balinese traditions, 20% of the schools pupils are Balinese. The curriculum you would find at ‘normal’ schools are found here too.

But The Green School is so much more.

John and Cynthia Hardy founded The Green School which opened it’s non-existent doors in 2008. In 2006 they watched the movie An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore and it changed their lives. John and Cynthia knew that things needed to change in order for the world to heal.

The children at The Green School are being educated to care for earth’s resources.

The Green School has grown into a community, people from all over the globe attend The Green School. Houses are being built around the school so that the children can walk to school. Food is served to over 400 people every single day.

It’s my dream as a mother to have my daughter Sally one day attend The Green School.

Please watch this video, John speaks about the school, the vision, and the images make you want to go there. Now.

Thank you, The Green School, and Cynthia and John for founding The Green School. The school and the vision are changing the lives of thousands of people around the world. It changed mine.
